Researchers at UCSD add bacteria to plastic to make it biodegrade

Researchers at UC San Diego have found a way to make some plastics biodegrade in a matter of months. KPBS sci-tech reporter Thomas Fudge explains their target is a petroleum-based plastic that’s already used in many common products.
