'How Democracies Die': US could lose democracy unless it reforms constitution, political institutions
When elected leaders undermine the very institutions and norms designed to keep them accountable, democracies can die from within. That’s a key premise of the 2018 book, “How Democracies Die.” Its co-author Daniel Ziblatt also co-wrote another book called “Tyranny of the Minority. That book argues the U.S. could lose its democracy unless it reforms its constitution and political institutions.
