LGBTQ+ veterans will have easier 'bad paper' fix under legal settlement
This month, the Defense Department settled a lawsuit filed by veterans who were forced out of the military under anti-LGBTQ+ policies.
Under the settlement, the Pentagon will streamline the process for the more than 30,000 LGBTQ+ veterans forced out under the military's prior bans to apply for changes to their discharge papers.
Pending court approval, the Pentagon should have the process in place this summer.
