Balboa Park's House of Mexico celebrates 20 years
The House of Mexico is celebrating its 20th anniversary this weekend with a free, family-friendly fiesta.
It was one of the original houses represented at Balboa Park's House of Pacific Relations International Cottages in 1936. For reasons unknown, it disappeared after six years.
The House of Mexico came and went until 20 years ago. Community members formed a nonprofit, submitted an application to the House of Pacific Relations and were voted back in.
The volunteer-run house has been going strong ever since.
The event is on Sunday, June 30 from 11:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m.
