Following Democracy Day, KPBS launches Public Matters initiative
Starting Monday, KPBS is launching a new initiative called Public Matters.
It will explore how we engage over politics, and how government impacts our lives. Segments and stories will talk about democracy, and threats to it.
The initiative also will expand community involvement through conversations and news coverage of issues that matter to our region, specifically within communities that are often left on the fringes of political power.
KPBS is partnering with Voice of San Diego and inewsource on the coverage. Voice of San Diego’s CEO Scott Lewis joined Amita Sharma to talk more about it.
