A Carlsbad woman was found dead in the waters of Agua Hedionda Lagoon Wednesday.
A paddle boarder spotted the body of Gwen DeValliere, 50, floating in a section of the estuary near Bruce Road and Park Drive about 9 a.m., according to the county Medical Examiner's Office.
Fire department personnel retrieved the body, police Lt. Greg White said.
A cause-of-death ruling was on hold pending completion of postmortem exams.
