Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, endorsed Donald Trump Wednesday after Trump's strong first-place finish in the Nevada caucuses.
Hunter, who represents the eastern and northern edges of San Diego County, called Trump a strong leader.
Hunter and Chris Collins of New York are the first sitting members of Congress to endorse Trump.
Collins said Trump has demonstrated he has "the guts and the fortitude" to help U.S. companies compete with China and take on foreign threats such as the Islamic State and North Korea.
