Mukasey's Nomination Likely Headed to Full Vote

Michael Mukasey's nomination for attorney general is pretty much guaranteed to reach the Senate floor. Democratic Sens. Charles Schumer (NY) and Dianne Feinstein (CA) have announced they will support the former judge in Tuesday's Senate Judiciary Committee vote.

Schumer was an early supporter of Mukasey and although Feinstein votes with her party on most votes, she has a history of backing the Bush White House on a number of major issues.

Once Mukasey's nomination reaches the Senate floor, it is all but assured of being approved.
