Video Of Army Vet Throwing 'First Pitch' Like A Grenade Goes Viral

Army vet tosses grenade-style first pitch

Retired U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Brian Keaton is making headlines for the unprecedented way in which he threw out the first pitch at Saturday's Giants vs. Nationals game.

Keaton lobbed the baseball like a grenade, and video of his stunt is going viral.

Keaton wrote on his Facebook page about the experience:

"I wanted to say a big thank you to all who has supported the 'pitch' I had a blast! I do feel a little guilty that all the worse off soldiers than myself was not able to do it! Thank you again for all the heart felt gratitude!"

The Marine Corps Times reports Keaton experienced combat in Iraq, were he was wounded in a bomb blast.

The [Nationals] said he spent 3 1/2 years at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center recovering from a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Keaton served 20 years in the Army before retiring.

What I find interesting is the reaction of many folks who've served in the military, saying Keaton's pitch was disrespectful. Do you agree? Have your say in our comments section!
