Change Of Command For Camp Pendleton's 15th MEU

Marine Corps Col. Vance L. Cryer will assume command of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based at Camp Pendleton, on July 10.

A change of command ceremony is scheduled to take place on base at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Cryer will take over command from Lt. Col. John R. O’Neal, who took charge of the 15th MEU in June 2013.

O'Neal is moving on to the Strategic Initiatives Group, Headquarters, Marine Corps, according to 15th MEU Public Affairs.

Col. Cryer worked most recently as the Aviation Weapons Programs deputy branch head at Headquarters, Marine Corps. He is also an AV-8B Harrier pilot.
