U.S. Marine Harrier Jet Crashes In Arizona, Pilot Safe (Video)

A nose laceration was the only injury to a pilot whose Marine Corps Harrier jet crashed about 40 miles south of Phoenix on Friday afternoon.

KFVS-TV reports the pilot able to eject before the jet slammed into the ground on the on the Gila River Indian Reservation.

A Gila River Indian Community spokesman told The Associated Press the pilot was sole crew member aboard the jet and "suffered only a nose laceration."

A Marine spokesperson from MCAS Miramar confirmed to AZCentral.com that the jet was based out of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
