Navy SEAL Veteran From Fallbrook Found Dead On Maersk Alabama (Video)

Fallbrook resident Jeffrey Reynolds, 44, was one of two Navy SEAL veterans found dead aboard the Maersk Alabama on Tuesday.

U-T San Diego reports Reynolds' parents, ex-wife and children live in Fallbrook as well.

Reynolds's mother, Janis, described her son to U-T San Diego this way:

“[A] wonderful, wonderful man who served his country with distinction for a long time.”

As Home Post reported Thursday, Reynolds and Mark Kennedy, 44, were working as security officers for Trident Group aboard the Maersk Alabama. The container ship was made famous during a 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates.

The story of the hijacking was turned into an Academy Award-nominated movie called "Captain Phillips."

Maersk Line Ltd. spokesman Kevin Speers told The Associated Press the Seychelles police report noted there were drugs and drug paraphernalia in the room aboard the Alabama where Reynolds' and Kennedy's bodies were discovered.

The type of drug discovered has not been identified by police or media.
