Operation Homefront announced its finalists for the 2013 Military Child of the Year® Award, and 14-year-old Jackson Seniff from Coronado has made the list.
Operation Homefront named the top 5 finalists from each branch of service last Friday. The winner for each service branch will be named March 5.
The five recipients of that award will get $5,000, and a free flight to Washington, D.C. (with mom, dad, or a guardian) for a special recognition ceremony on April 11, 2013.
Jackson is competing in the Navy category.
President & CEO of Operation Homefront Jim Knotts said of the Military Child of the Year® Award:
"The sons and daughters of America's service members learn responsibility and citizenship at a very young age. Children in military families understand sacrifice, service, and strength of character. This is what the Military Child of the Year® Award honors."
Good luck, Jackson!
