"The Daily Show" shined a spotlight this week on the close bond between Military Working Dogs and their handlers by interviewing the author of a new book on the topic.
Host Jon Stewart sat down with Dogster.com news editor Maria Goodavage, who just wrote a book called "Soldier Dogs." Goodavage explains that ever since it came to light that a MWD named Cairo was part of the Navy SEAL team that took out Osama bin Laden, Americans have been captivated by the idea of dogs in the military. But, as she explains, dogs have been a part of the U.S. military for much, much longer.
