I've got to admit, I'm not the world's biggest fan of the New Yorker, but this time the magazine "not edited for the old lady in Dubuque" has hit it out of the park. The magazine published journalist Nicholas Schmidle's account of the Osama bin Laden raid - the first account that includes interviews with the Navy SEALs who conducted the mission. Of, course, their names were changed - but the heart-racing, thrilling story of the manhunt is all there.
On a lighter note, the article also clears up one mystery about the raid: what breed of dog accompanied the Navy SEALs on their mission? Turns out, it was a Belgian Malinois named Cairo, and he participated in every aspect of the mission's training and execution.
