What can we as a country do to shore up democracy?

Wednesday's Community Conversation — an audience-participation event from KPBS and the National Conflict Resolution Center — is titled "Keeping Our Democracy: What Now?"

Three political science professors with differing specialties will discuss threats to our political system and potential solutions. Dr. Carl Luna of Mesa College and Drs. Tom Wong and LaGina Gause of UC San Diego will discuss the issues and then take questions from the audience via Facebook and YouTube.

LaGina Gause joined KPBS Midday Edition to preview the event.

A big decision awaits some voters this April as the race for San Diego County’s Supervisor District 1 seat heats up. Are you ready to vote? Check out the KPBS Voter Hub to learn about the candidates, the key issues the board is facing and how you can make your voice heard.
