Over the weekend protests broke out around San Diego County, primarily in La Mesa and downtown San Diego.

Demonstrators chanted, carried signs, blocked sections of freeways and knelt down in the street to peacefully protest the death of George Floyd and incidents of police brutality around the nation. Some vandals and looters also took to the streets, smashing windows, setting fires and stealing.
