They are the tip of the spear when it comes to health care. But the battle nurses and health care workers are fighting in the age of coronavirus has taken the challenge to a new level.
It can be overlooked, with coronavirus constantly in the news, but hospitals are still doing what they always do - caring for people with health problems that are not virus-related.
With all this added stress, how are nurses coping in these most stressful of times? It's a question Midday took up with UC San Diego La Jolla Medical Center nurse Elizabeth Jones. She spoke in her capacity as a member of the California Nurses Association.
