This March voters in the city of San Diego will go to the polls to decide who will advance in the race to replace Republican Mayor Kevin Faulconer.
Democrat Tasha Williamson is a community activist from southeast San Diego. She helped organize protests after Earl McNeil died while in the custody of National City police. Now, Williamson's running against two Democrats, Assemblyman Todd Gloria and San Diego City Councilwoman Barbara Bry and Republican City Councilman Scott Sherman in the mayor's race. The top two vote-getters in the March primary will advance to the November general election.

Williamson joined Midday Edition on Wednesday to talk about why she's running for mayor and what her priorities would be if she gets elected.
