San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer had some one-on-one time with President Trump Tuesday. The pair had a meeting inside the Oval Office at the White House.
Faulconer advocated for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, aka the USMCA trade deal. Faulconer also raised the issue of sewage flowing into the San Diego region from Tijuana and the impact on local beaches. The mayor additionally discussed with Trump how San Diego is working to tackle homelessness.
Specific details of conversations were not provided.

In a tweet Tuesday Faulconer said, "I had a chance to briefly meet with the president to discuss a few big issues facing San Diego. We talked about the pending USMCA deal, California’s homeless crisis, and I also brought up sewage coming from the Tijuana River Valley — and encouraged more federal action to fix it."
An earlier Twitter post from Faulconer said he was in Washington, D.C. for a Border Trade Alliance conference.
Faulconer is not the first San Diego County politician to meet with Trump — San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar and former Escondido Mayor Sam Abed have both had discussions with the president at the White House.
