San Diego cardiologist Dr. Eric Topol is considered a leader in the field of individualized medicine and he’s written a lot about the future of healthcare.
Now, in a new book, Topol describes what he believes artificial intelligence can do for medicine: from restoring the doctor-patient relationship to transforming the healthcare system and expanding research.
Topol is the director and founder of the Scripps Research Translational Institute. His new book is titled “Deep Medicine: How Artificial Intelligence Can Make Healthcare Human Again.”
He joins Midday Edition Tuesday to discuss the promises and potential pitfalls of artificial intelligence in the medical field.
