Colleagues and fellow Democrats are calling for San Diego Unified School Board member Kevin Beiser to resign.
Beiser faces allegations from four men that he either harassed, groped or, in at least one case, assaulted them. Beiser has denied the allegations and has so far ignored calls to resign from all four other members of the board.

Beiser, who is a math teacher, is now on leave from his job at a Chula Vista middle school.
A group of eight LGBT elected officials, including Chula Vista councilman Steve Padilla, have also called on Beiser to resign.
In a written statement from the officials, which also includes California Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins, D-San Diego, Assemblyman Todd Gloria, D-San Diego, San Diego city council members Georgette Gómez, Jennifer Campbell and Chris Ward, said, “As LGBT elected officials who are committed to changing the overarching cultural and political climate to prevent sexual harassment, we want to ensure that every complaint is fully investigated and appropriately decided. That said, even following the principles of due process, there are cases, especially those with multiple and severe allegations, where the obvious right thing is for the accused to step away from their position. This is one of those cases. We call on Kevin Beiser to resign from his role as a San Diego Unified School District Board Trustee.”
Padilla and Richard Barrera, a San Diego Unified School Board member, join Midday Edition on Thursday to discuss why they believe Beiser should step down from his position on the board.
