KPBS listeners know all about the power of sound to educate, to enlighten and to stimulate the imagination. But alternative medicine practitioners say there's another power of sound that's not as well known, it's the power to heal.
Diane Mandle of Encinitas is an internationally known sound healer, giving regular concerts and presentations. On Feb. 8 she will debut her personal story about encountering and mastering the art of Tibetan bowl playing in a one-woman show, "Collage: Many Pieces Creating a Whole" at the Ruby Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane in Carlsbad.
Mandel, author of the new book, "Ancient Sounds For A New Age," joins Midday Edition Thursday.
Mandle will perform in concert and celebrate the publication of her book on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 5 p.m. at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park.
