San Diego is heading into a big weekend for concerts with a heavy heart and a heightened concern about security. Just a week after the mass shooting in Las Vegas at a country music concert, San Diego is welcoming such high profile acts as Coldplay, Janet Jackson, and Depeche Mode.
Depeche Mode

Beloved alternative band Depeche Mode returns to San Diego for its Global Spirit Tour.
On this tour, the band mixes newer material with songs from the 1990s and a few nods to its 1980s synth-pop roots.
The band was formed in 1980, and its founding members David Gahan, Andrew Fletcher and Martin Gore are still recording and touring together.
Warpaint will open the show.

British rock band Coldplay returns to San Diego for a show at Qualcomm Stadium.
Since forming in the late 1990s, the band has released many hits and radio standards including "Yellow," "Fix You," "The Scientist" and "Paradise" among others.
Coldplay's "A Head Full of Dreams" tour will feature new songs, plus the band's trademark visuals and stage antics.
