The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency reported 252 new COVID-19 infections and five additional deaths related to the virus in its latest data.
Friday's data increased the county's cumulative totals to 748,896 infections and 5,155 deaths since the pandemic began, according to the HHSA.

The number of COVID-positive patients in San Diego County hospitals increased to 162, up two from Wednesday, according to the latest state data.
The number of those patients in intensive care decreased to 39. Available ICU beds remained stable at 251.
