A zip line that is believed to be California's longest is set to open this Labor Day weekend.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that starting this weekend visitors can pay $99 to soar under about a mile and a quarter of cable spread over four stations in the mountains of the La Jolla Indian Reservation in northeast San Diego County. Returning campers can pay $75.
The line was built with $1.8 million of federal economic grant money and $200,000 from the tribe. Tribal officials say if the zip line is successful it could help fund cabins and other housing and eventually a small casino.
The reservation is home to about 465 of the La Jolla tribe's 728 members.
