One Book for Littlest Kids: "It's a Little Book" by Lane Smith

This year KPBS partnered with Reach Out and Read San Diego to select a special book for babies, toddlers and children ages five and under as a companion to the 2015 One Book, One San Diego selection. The book is "It's a Little Book" by Lane Smith.

Hundreds of copies of the book are being given away to children on their first well visits to doctors within the Reach Out and Read-San Diego network.

One Book, One San Diego is a partnership between KPBS and the San Diego Public Library. The mission of the program is to bring San Diegans together through an enriching, locally relevant literary experience. Each program year, the community helps to choose a book that will be the featured “One Book.” That book will then shape the local focus, outreach initiatives, and special events that will compose the One Book experience.
