Joint Chiefs Chairman: No Civil War in Iraq

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Peter Pace says that there is not a civil war in Iraq. Gen. Pace spoke to reporters as U.S. troops moved from Iraq's Anbar province to support operations in Baghdad.

The troop movements -- and the spike in Iraqi violence -- come as the Senate Armed Services Committee prepares to hold confirmation hearings next week for Defense Secretary nominee Robert Gates. In a written statement to the committee, Gates said that he would consider altering the U.S. strategy in Iraq.
