KPBS is committed to keeping our community and general public informed around the public health concerns associated with the coronavirus (COVID-19). Our newsroom has launched a live blog and has created a landing page to make it easy to find the most recent news around the pandemic. KPBS remains committed to following this story closely at the local level, and NPR and PBS are providing coverage on national and international basis.

The health risk from COVID-19 to the general public is a quickly evolving situation. Just as with other infectious diseases, not all parts of our country or state are affected equally at the same time.

In response to the pandemic crisis, KPBS has suspended all in-person events including public tours, donor receptions, luncheons, and screenings. A return to in-person events will only happen once the San Diego County Public Health Order prohibiting all gatherings is lifted and only when we have the resources needed to implement all recommended safety guidelines for holding in-person events.

We are excited to produce virtual events, screenings, and celebrations for our audiences, supporters, and members. These virtual events use platforms such as Zoom, YouTube, Facebook, and OVEE.

KPBS' virtual events that are open to the public are publicized on the KPBS Event Calendar. We also email invitations for these station events, including One Book, One San Diego, the GI Film Festival San Diego, Community Conversations, and KPBS Kids. Sign up to receive KPBS event invitations.

For our Producers Club members, we continue to offer unique experiences. KPBS Producer Club members are notified of these opportunities via email and in the PC Post e-newsletter. They are also listed on the KPBS Producers Club page.

Community events that are produced by local businesses, nonprofits, and clubs are listed on the KPBS Events Calendar and the KPBS Arts Calendar. Check with the event organizer to verify the status of the event. If you are an event organizer, please let us know as soon as possible if your event has been canceled by sending an email to eventscalendar@kpbs.org

KPBS is committed to providing a safe environment at our events. To that end, we would like to reiterate the current recommendations provided by the CDC:
