Covered California Rebrands Program For Small Businesses
Covered California's health insurance program for small businesses is getting a new name and a new marketing campaign.
Covered California's health insurance program for small businesses is getting a makeover.
The Small Business Health Options Program, formerly known as SHOP, is being re-branded as Covered California for Small Business.
As of March 1, the program had signed up 2,289 small employers statewide.
Exchange officials hope the new name and new marketing campaign will entice more businesses to enroll. Covered California is emphasizing the federal tax credits that small employers may be eligible for.
Insurance agents throughout California offer the program, but some of them haven’t been paid commissions for more than a year.
Covered California officials said they want to resolve that situation soon.
