Leadership shakeup at SANDAG
The San Diego Association of Governments is shaking things up once again. Three top staffers were fired this week. Hasan Ikhrata became the director of SANDAG last year, and has since faced turbulence for attempting to shift the agency’s direction. While Ikhrata said the decision was “difficult but important,” he refused to comment on specific reasoning.
Saving SoCal beaches
Southern California beaches are deteriorating. From Ocean Beach to North County, long time residents and experts are noticing the coastline is widely receding. However, a group of Oceanside residents are putting a plan in motion to save the sand.

Seaport San Diego tower
San Diego’s bayfront is missing a “postcard-worthy” destination — that’s according to development company 1HWY1, which is proposing a 500-foot tall tower on the Embarcadero. The tower is part of the $2.4 billion Seaport San Diego project. The problem is, some are concerned this focal point will be nothing more than a labor-intensive eyesore in an area already known for its view.
