The holiday shopping season kicked into high gear Friday with about 164 million people expected to take advantage of Black Friday deals this weekend, according to the latest survey published by the National Retail Federation.
Analysts from MasterCard Spending Plus expect Black Friday sales to hit $23 billion. That’s up from $21 billion during the same period last year.
Small Business Saturday
Small business owners in San Diego and around the nation want shoppers to show their support in a big way on Small Business Saturday. Last year, shoppers spent $12.9 billion on local retailers on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, according to a report by the National Federation of Independent Business and American Express.
Cyber Monday
Many shoppers are waiting for Cyber Monday to take care of holiday shopping from the comfort of their computers.
