This film follows Noelle Deane, and her husband Grant, for a period of more than 3 years from the moment when she receives diagnosis, through her treatment and into remission. As cancer treatment unfolds, we hear from her medical care team Dr. Anne Wallace (breast cancer surgeon), Dr. Richard Swab (medical oncologist), and other nurses and staff at the Moores Cancer Center, UC San Diego on the realities of what it is like for patients to undergo treatment.
Through interviews with Noelle’s family members, we learn about the difficult discussions that take place on fears, uncertainties, and hopes for the future, as well as having to face different treatment options. "A Journey Through Breast Cancer" is a testament to the attention, care and communication required by all to see through such a harrowing disease.
