“Inside Harrods” explores one of the most famous department stores, in the world as well as the secrets of its incredible success. From its modest origins to its emergence as a retail icon, this store has created a dynamic legacy.
The documentary is filled with stories of success, from selling the toys that would inspire A.A. Milne’s Winnie-The-Pooh, to sourcing the supplies used by Robert Scott’s Antarctic expedition.
However, the it does not shy away from the unfortunate events surrounding the department store either.
Twice bombed by the IRA, six people were killed there in 1983.
Years later, Harrods became an unofficial shrine to Princes Diana, who died with its owner’s son, Dodi Al Fayyad.
Featuring archival footage and commentary from Harrods employees, “Inside Harrods” is filled with the peaks and valleys of the company’s history for viewers to enjoy.
