Set in the deceptively idyllic fictional English county of Midsomer, the suspenseful drama MIDSOMER MURDERS is based on the popular novels of Caroline Graham.
Featuring an eccentric cast of characters, ubiquitous red herrings, and quaint countryside scenery, this long-running crime series recalls classic public television British mysteries of the past.
At the heart of the show is the perceptive and meticulous criminal investigator Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles - BERGERAC; THE CHANNEL ISLANDS AT WAR).
EPISODE GUIDE:
"The House In The Woods Parts 1 & 2 repeat Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 from 10-11:35 p.m. - Local PC Ben Jones (Jason Hughes) steps into CID and DS Scott's shoes to help Barnaby investigate the garroting of two house hunters outside a deserted — supposedly haunted — house. The owner is anxious to sell, but the estate agent, Harriet Davis (Rebecca Egan), who is representing Jack Magwood (George Baker - "I CLAUDIUS"), seems reluctant to let anyone see the property.
This episode is the first appearance of DC Ben Jones.
"Dead Letters" Parts 1 & 2 repeats Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 from 10-11:35 p.m. - The mother of a deceased one-time carnival queen is found dead in a stream. Once again, Barnaby must dig up the past to solve the case. Barnaby is convinced he has seen two people from an earlier mystery (“The Killings at Badger's Drift”— the very first episode of Season 1) around the village. He is puzzled because the people in question were brutally murdered. Is Barnaby seeing ghosts?
Guest stars Simon Callow ("Four Weddings and a Funeral") and Caroline Goodall ("Schindler's List"; MRS. BIGGS).

Although the cause of death is revealed to have been natural causes, the case is far from simple when, soon after, his solicitor is killed in a house fire.

"Down Among The Dead Men" Parts 1 & 2 repeat Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 from 10-11:35 p.m. - Blackmail, revenge and, of course, murder strike again in Midsomer. Barnaby has plenty of suspects with motives but no real proof. For once his investigations take him beyond the confines of Midsomer, with trips to the seaside — where he even takes time out for a paddle. The real evidence, however, rests much closer to home as Joyce and Cully discover.

"Four Funerals And A Wedding" Parts 1 & 2 repeat Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 from 10-11:35 p.m. - A ninety-year-old battle of the sexes comes to a head in Broughton, with casualties on both side: Mildred Danvers, poisoned, and Rev. Anthony Gant, shot.

"Country Matters" Parts 1 & 2 repeat Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 from 10-11:35 p.m. - Campaigns against the building of a supermarket in Elverton-come-Laterly come to a head when environmental supervisor Frank Hopkirk is stabbed to death. His body is found at a long-forgotten timberyard.

"Death In The Chorus" Parts 1 & 2 repeat Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 from 10-11:35 p.m. - Barnaby and DC Ben Jones attempt to unravel the deaths of a choir member and a bird watcher before more murders occur. With an art scam and another person trying to keep control, there is much to keep Barnaby and Jones busy.

"Last Year's Model" Parts 1 & 2 air Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 10-11:35 p.m. - When accused murderer Annie Woodrow comes to court charged with Frances Trevelyan's death, DCI Barnaby begins to doubt the evidence for her conviction. DC Jones is promoted to DS.
