"Lost And Found: The Legacy Of The USS Lagarto" recounts the discovery of a WWII U.S. Navy submarine, the first found since the war ended. Missing for more than 60 years, Lagarto and her crew of 86 men vanished during war patrol in the Pacific in 1945. Divers John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, who discovered an unknown sunken German U-Boat near New Jersey described in the best-seller "Shadow Divers," take viewers to the final resting spot of the American sub at the bottom of the Gulf of Thailand.

Their underwater high definition video reveals the evidence of Lagarto's fierce battle involving split-second decisions against a Japanese convoy. Computer-generated imaging reconstructs battle tactics of the Japanese Imperial Navy that sent Lagarto to the bottom where the remains of her crew are entombed to this day.

Producers Harvey Moshman and Chuck Coppola also explore more than 60 years worth of emotional wounds still felt by fellow submariners and families of Lagarto's crew. "Lost And Found" details how Midwestern dairy farmers and cherry pickers were recruited to learn welding and pipfitting to build submarines in the tiny shipyard of Manitowoc, Wisconsin on the edge of Lake Michigan, so far from the nearest ocean. The program shows the town's sacrifice and pride then and now. "Lost And Found" is the story of a town, a submarine and families intertwined who show that it is never too late to honor those who've gone before us.
