One of the most exciting things about Comic-Con is the exclusive limited edition sketchbooks from my favorite artists. What could be better than to pick up one of these from the artist responsible? I spent the day yesterday scouring the Con floor to find the best of the best.
Here are five amazing 2008 exclusive sketchbooks debuting on the Con floor you'll want to put your hard-earned dollars on:
The Dark Knight by Bill Sienkiewicz
Legendary comics artist Bill Sienkiewicz introduced the world of comics to an award-winning mashup of oil painting, collage, and traditional line-art way back in the early 80s with industry-changing works like Stray Toasters , New Mutants , and Elektra: Assassin with Frank Miller. And is still going strong today working in comics and doing production and design work for the biggest movie of the year, The Dark Knight . This sketchbook pulls back the wizard's curtain with page after page of amazing Batman sketches that will make your knees weak. Bill didn't make it to the convention this year, but if you hurry you can still get your hands on this gorgeous sketchbook before they're all gone.

Retroactive by Darwyn Cooke
Emmy Nominated for DC: THE NEW FRONTIER, Darwyn Cooke's retro-future art is a thing of pure beauty. RETROACTIVE is a beautiful full-color hardcover of all new and never before seen treasures and selected rarities from Darwyn's time as an animation artist through to his current career as a superstar comic book writer/illustrator. My single favorite thing at the entire convention.
