San Diego Community Activist Tasha Williamson Shares Experience With COVID-19

Community activist and former mayoral candidate Tasha Williamson talks about her recovery experience and how doctors were able to treat her case of COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic surge continues across California.

Thursday San Diego County reported the third highest number of new coronavirus cases at 3,850, a record number of hospitalizations and 47 deaths. Also on Thursday, the number of daily COVID-19 deaths across the country hit a record of more than 4,000.

The pandemic has touched many lives, including that of Tasha Williamson, community activist and former San Diego mayoral candidate.

Williamson's work with people who are homeless and other communities hard hit by the pandemic was put on hold after she contracted the virus and was hospitalized.

As she recovers at home she says breathing is still a struggle.

"This was a very life-altering experience for me," Williamson she.

Williamson joined Midday Edition to talk about her recovery experience and how doctors were able to treat her case of COVID-19.
