Earlier this week, a San Diego County Supervisors meeting quickly deteriorated over increasing local mandates that would require masking and proof of vaccination or regular testing in schools, workplaces and healthcare facilities.
More than a hundred speakers from across the county delivered scathing and often profanity-laced testimony - with much of the rhetoric pointed at Chair Nathan Fletcher.

One county resident, Brittany Mayer, suggested during the meeting that Fletcher would be removed from office over his proposed public health measures.
"We are done, the consent of the governed is removed. We will not comply," Mayer said. "We do not consent. Nathan Fletcher, you are on notice. We will constitutionally remove all petty tyrants beginning now."
Paul Sisson is a health care reporter for The San Diego Union-Tribune who reported on the fallout from the meeting.
"This week's meeting just seemed to reach a pitch that almost had a little bit of a threatening tone to it," Sisson said.
