Teachers, students and parents across San Diego County are preparing to start the new school year from home.
Last week, Gov. Gavin Newsom rolled out new school guidelines which means all local public and private schools will be prohibited from reopening unless more is done to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Remote learning has been a major challenge for parents who are juggling working from home and at the same time dealing with their kids' online schooling.
So how are parents adjusting? And how are they preparing for the upcoming school year?

Midday Edition checks in with two parents: Beto Vasquez is a father of two children who attend Sherman Elementary and Virginia Davila, an essential grocery store worker and single mom. Her kids are enrolled in the Sweetwater Union High School District.
