Todd Gloria, a Democratic Assemblyman representing California’s 78th district, announced he is running for San Diego mayor in 2020.

The San Diego native served on the city council and was council president in 2013 and 2014 and briefly served as interim after Mayor Bob Filner's resignation. He helped author the city's Climate Action Plan. He says the work he does is a passion, not just a job.
He spoke to KPBS about his vision for San Diego, and why he believes being mayor is the right position for him to achieve his goals.
