On Wednesday, Midday Edition broadcast the first and maybe only public forum between California’s 2018 candidates for the U.S. Senate, incumbent Senator Dianne Feinstein and California State Senator Kevin de Leόn.

The hour-long conversation in San Francisco is set to begin at 12:10 p.m. It is hosted by the non-partisan Public Policy Institute of California and moderated by PPIC president and CEO Mark Baldassare.

UC San Diego political science professor Thad Kousser joins Midday Edition for analysis of the candidates' conversation and the race.
