The Lions Tigers & Bears animal sanctuary in Alpine unveiled a new multi-acre habitat Tuesday.
The open-air enclosure includes a large pond with waterfall and enrichment platforms. Natural terrain and mature trees were also added to the habitat.

The unveiling included the release of sanctuary animals into the habitat including the rare white lion Louie, who arrived at the sanctuary earlier this year. Staff said before arriving, Louie was forced to perform in live shows for a circus.
"He's been a working cat. So we like to say they go from rags to riches here at Lions, Tigers & Bears, and he's retiring here," said Bobbi Brink of Lions, Tigers & Bears.
