Police: No Arrest Made In Connection With Fire

What Caused The Fires?

Escondido police say that news reports that a suspect was arrested in connection with the fires in San Diego County is incorrect.

The city of Escondido said a suspect was detained by police but released after it was determined the individual had no connection with the fires.

KPBS reported the incorrect information, first attributing it to 10News, a KPBS media partner. The KPBS story was later updated with information from City News Service that was also incorrect.
