A 5.0-magnitude earthquake rattled Baja California and San Diego County at 3:52 a.m. today. The quake was centered about 20 miles south-southeast of Guadalupe Victoria, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It's the same region where a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck on Easter of this year, and officials say Tuesday morning's quake is likely an aftershock to that event.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.

KPBS has created a public safety coverage policy to guide decisions on what stories we prioritize, as well as whose narratives we need to include to tell complete stories that best serve our audiences. This policy was shaped through months of training with the Poynter Institute and feedback from the community. You can read the full policy here.
