Among the thousands of immigrants to this country are foreign professionals --including experienced medical doctors -- who leave their homelands and their practices. Without U.S. medical licenses, they must abandon their professions and accept sometimes menial jobs. Now a new statewide program puts their medical training to work to relieve the nursing shortage in California. Elsa Sevilla brings us this report.
