Documentary film uses music to explore young artists' inspiration

Diego Gutierrez's documentary film "The Valley of the Dog Songs" captures the experience of San Diego based musician Phil Beaumont as he writes songs to capture the inspiration of six young artists.

Diego Gutierrez's documentary film "The Valley of the Dog Songs" captures the experience of San Diego based musician Phil Beaumont as he writes songs to capture the inspiration of six young artists.

The Valley of the Dog Songs will be screening at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego Thursday night at 7pm, followed by a live performance from Phil Beaumont and his band Maquiladora.
