Fiesta de Reyes in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park's Feliz Navidad is a holiday celebration like no other in San Diego. It is a free, family-friendly immersive experience designed to bring the spirit of the holidays to life for San Diegans of all ages. The experience is slated to run from December 1 through New Years Day.
The Fiesta de Reyes courtyard at the north end of the state park will be full of visually stimulating holiday décor, lights and displays – some larger than life. A giant Christmas tree sits next to the Fiesta de Reyes stage which will host an expanded live entertainment program on the weekends including folklorico dancing and local music entertainers.
For those looking for unique holiday gifts, the Fiesta de Reyes courtyard is surrounded by 19 specialty shops offering gift items from clothing to jewelry, toys and home décor as well as locally produced chocolate, olive oil products and hot sauces. Guests wanting a more thrilling experience when family and friends are in town can try a guided ghost tour of local haunts in the park.
Casa de Reyes Restaurant in the middle of the Fiesta de Reyes plaza is featuring traditional Mexican holiday recipes on a special menu for the month along with specialty drinks all served in a warm al fresco setting. Additional dining options include stands selling holiday tamales, elotes, churros, champurada and other holiday foods and drinks.
“The holidays are always a special time of year at Fiesta de Reyes,” said Ryan Ross, director of Fiesta de Reyes. “We want folks to experience the spirit of this season by walking into a different world when they come through our gates. We encourage everyone to come join us and find just the right unique gift for someone special then sample our special holiday menu at Casa de Reyes Restaurant and relax to the live entertainment on our stage. Or just come breathe in the energy of the season.”
Fiesta de Reyes is open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Free parking is available throughout Old Town with extra parking available across Taylor Street in the CalTrans parking lot all day on weekend days and after 5 p.m. on weekdays.
