Get ready to embrace the holiday spirit as Little Italy San Diego welcomes back its much-anticipated annual event, the Little Italy Tree Lighting & Christmas Village, on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festivities will kick off at 4:00 p.m., with the highlight of the evening—the Tree Lighting Ceremony—taking place at 6:30 p.m. in Piazza della Famiglia. This festive tradition, beloved by locals and visitors alike, promises to deliver an unforgettable evening filled with holiday-themed decorations, bites, sips, activations, and goods.

As the jingle bells ring out and the streets of Little Italy transform into a winter wonderland, guests will experience dazzling display of Christmas twinkle lights, towering 10-foot nutcrackers, and kinetic tree holiday displays that adorn every street corner. The neighborhood will be filled with the sounds of classic Christmas songs, inviting families, friends, and neighbors to gather together and experience the wonder and joy of the holiday season.

This year’s event is especially exciting as Santa Claus returns, granting Christmas wishes to attendees of all ages. In addition to Santa’s appearance, visitors can enjoy the display of two stunning Christmas trees—the iconic 25-foot tree at Piazza della Famiglia and Joshua Hubert’s magnificent Aurora tree at Piazza Basilone. The evening will feature live music, entertainment, holiday treats, and a traditional Italian tree lighting ceremony that is sure to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
