Preserving Black History in San Diego

Genealogist and public historian Yvette Porter Moore of discusses researching and archiving Black history in San Diego. Despite its emergence as a top 10 city in the nation, San Diego's Black population has historically been smaller than in other large metropolitan areas. There were the early pioneers, entrepreneurs, and military folks, but also the social justice activists who challenged the status quo. And how does the presence since the 1990s of a growing East African community and recent Haitian migrants contribute to the history of Black San Diego?
